El-Wad / Aqabat al-Mufti

Why stop here

The Fourth Station sits a few doors along from the Third. The two are unusually close. An Armenian Catholic church marks it, built in 1881.

Look for

• The church doorway, low and set back from the street.
• Aqabat al-Mufti, an alley climbing west off Al-Wad Street.
• Only about 30 metres of street separate this stop from the last.

Context

The chapels that mark the Third and Fourth Stations are recent. Both went up in the 19th century. The route has been redrawn many times over the centuries.

Head west about 120 m to Souq Khan al-Zeit.
